Kochi: Sponsoring adventure tourism is the best way to revive Kerala’s tourism sector which has been affected by the pandemic, says the ministry. Since many foreign countries are either extending or imposing travel restrictions, attracting more domestic tourists is the wise choice to overcome the crisis.
The Ministry of Tourism is planning to start adventure tourism activities in selected locations, according to District Tourism Promotion Board Secretary S Vijayakumar. He added that the government’s recent launch of new guidelines for adventure and activity tourism was a milestone in this regard.
“On July 26, the state approved the Kerala Activity and Adventure Based Tourism and Security Guidelines. Accordingly, those who wish to start adventure tourism activities in their vicinity must apply for permits that adhere to this guideline.
